Age: 32 (30 at time of explant op and xviii for original chest augmentation)

Height: 5"6

Weight: 55 kg

Why did you desire the procedure to remove your breast implants?

I enjoyed having my breast implants and thought when the fourth dimension came I'd have them replaced.

Withal, after having my breast implants for 10 years I started to have capsular contracture in the left breast and I also found out that they were PIPs.

I practised a lot of yoga and didn't like it when I lay downward on my front and the breast implants felt similar they were in the mode and uncomfortable. Since having my implants at 18, I also felt much more than confident in myself and reached a point of acceptance most the way I looked and life in full general.

I yearned to just be natural again. So I made the scary decision to have a breast explant without replacement.

Although I had confidence with my decision it was at times absolutely terrifying. I lose count of the times I virtually backed out only I went through with information technology. The healing process was difficult simply xviii months later I take no regrets whatever and I am so glad I did non get more implants put in.

I hope that my unbiased, honest account of my experience might help other women considering this huge change and give yous the conviction to make the best decision for you. I take looked back on my own personal diary for this information and then you go a true idea of how I felt at the fourth dimension!

How did you feel the day before the breast implant removal?

Many times I had been tempted to back out, but today I was fully ready to cancel and looked into whether this would be possible.

As I was having the process done on the NHS, and felt so grateful, I felt I couldn't back out at present and waste product their time. I was panicking. I told myself that if the result was horrendous and I looked deformed, I could always pay for further surgery to right them.

Choosing a mail surgical bra for later on implant removal

I started to pack my bag for the morning. I started with my macom compression bra - I'd looked into various brands and felt reassured that macom® was the best later speaking to their wonderful staff.

The pinch belong was really more like a corset but softer and fastened at the forepart with three sizes so y'all can go far tighter or looser.

macom® were great and I am still then very grateful for Nadja'due south communication. She was across helpful and was incredibly knowledgeable and sympathetic near my situation – the team genuinely wanted to provide the very all-time product to ensure I got optimal results and healed well.

macom® recommends the Explant bra

In addition to my macom® vest, I packed an overnight pocketbook in case I needed to stay. Although I was supposed to be out the same day if at that place were no complications, who knows what might happen.

In bed that night I felt truly overwhelmed and flare-up into tears, wondering why I always had the procedure in the first identify. I worried well-nigh the outcome of the PIP implants in my body too – I'd been so tired for the past twelvemonth and had numerous health problems. I felt empty-headed being in this situation when members of my family unit have had serious operations and merely got on with it and my op was adequately modest and I was an emotional wreck! Thankfully, my beau was actually supportive but I certainly put him through his paces with my worrying and obsessing about the operation.

I slept really badly, running through every eventuality in my mind so merely ended up having a few hours pre-op sleep.

How was the mean solar day of your breast explant surgery?

The morning was all a mistiness and I was tired simply no longer panicking. I wanted to become it over with and merely deal with the results and my new body. Before I knew information technology I was coming round from the anaesthetic and extremely woozy and no pain at all. I was super disorientated, simply looked downwardly and remembered… I now had no boobs!

Were yous concerned your chest would appear flat later chest implant removal? What were the initial results?

As soon as I could, I peeked into the gown, preparing for the worst. It was a stupor to come across my tiny boobs, puckered, droopy and deplorable looking merely not as bad as I'd expected. Later dozing and the painkillers had worn off, I started to feel some pain on the left side when I tried to sit upwards so the nurse gave me some codeine. Inside an hour or so I was upward and virtually, and went to the bath to take a full look.

My left boob was bruised underneath effectually the incision area and I felt some shooting pain down i side and the right was much better.

Initially, I didn't remember I could wear my macom® vest as I was sore but my swain helped me put it on and I actually felt much meliorate and more supported with it on. It held me in gently but firmly, and I felt that my saggy skin was being helped to snap dorsum into place. It didn't cause whatever additional pain as I thought it would, it fit perfectly. It did make me look totally flat though, which worried me initially, but I expected this thanks to the advice from macom®.

Overall, despite the obvious initial daze, I loved how soft they were. After 12 years I couldn't call back what it felt like non to have implants and it was lovely to give my boyfriend a hug without the hard contracted implants betwixt us.

I stayed in the hospital longer than I would have due to the pain on my left side, just after eating some nutrient was allowed to go home.

How was your recovery following the removal of your breast implants?

Very tired but much less pain – merely in the left side and the sutures were off by the end of the day!

Mainly slept on the sofa, ate grapes and watched bad daytime Tv set!

I was then self-conscious about my completely flat breast with the compression belong just they were and so lovely. Having some pinch is important but I've had to resist the urge to just get out and buy a thick padded bra!

Still getting a bit of pain on the left side, annoying!

On day five I started to discover a difference in the way the right and left boob were healing. No hurting in the right, but still some considerable pain in the left – which likewise seemed slightly smaller than the correct.

I've noticed I experience increasingly tired and weary which made me experience quite low in mood.

The macom® vest has been amazing, I'm really glad I invested in a high-quality garment. Information technology was on the more than expensive side but is really proficient quality and a perfect fit. I miss information technology when it comes off and feel so much ameliorate, comfy and supported with it on – the 3 size options meant I was able to loosen it if I felt sore.

two months post op

Well, both breasts take healed and the infection quickly cleared up. The left breast with the infection (which was besides the one with capsular contracture) is slightly smaller than the right. At showtime, it freaked me out just I don't think it's that noticeable – especially when wearing a bra and over apparel.

I tin can't quite explain information technology only I experience a existent sense of freedom in being all-natural on my chest again. I think knowing my implants were PIP and that in that location was non-medical grade silicone inside me, I but wanted them out for good fifty-fifty though I knew the replacement would be safe.

I've fluffed and then much just in two months and filled out a lot of the space which I'm sure volition only amend.

Another thing that did concern me was the texture and bumps of the chest tissue but the doctor advised it's just all moulding back together at present and this is simply regular breast tissue.

I love wearing little overnice bras too – I feel so pretty and younger – it'south like I've gone back to being 18 over again!

Are yous happy with the results of your breast implant removal surgery?

It'south now a year and a half post-op and I do non regret my decision to explant. I have fifty-fifty more torso confidence than I did with the implants!

I wear bikinis and feel complimentary of worry about what people think, I've stood up and taught yoga classes without the need for a padded bra, I've worn cute sequined backless dresses with no bra and felt like a million dollars.

My boobs have sprung back to beingness nice and perky and while at that place's a slight asymmetry between the ii, information technology'southward nothing major. I definitely think that the macom® belong helped with this.

My communication to anyone considering explant with no replacement is that the pre-nerves and worry are much worse than the actual procedure. Get a skilful pinch garment, stand up past your conclusion, have faith, and recollect – that offset glance is likely to exist unpleasant, just you've got a lot of healing to do.

In a higher place all, whatever your decision, love your beautiful body! Implants in or implants out, we are all unique and special – that's definitely the lesson I took from this whole experience.

If anyone has any questions most my procedure, please contact macom® and I will be happy to answer them.
